FIRST
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen for students across the globe. FIRST Robotics is not just for students interested in engineering, science, and design. FIRST Robotics was made for all students. A robotics team isn't just a team building a robot. A robotics team is a company building a robot. FIRST was made for teaching students how to function in any environment in their future.
Competition
Overdrive
This years game is called Overdrive. The game is quite simple. There are two alliances, a red alliance and a blue alliance, each with three teams. The alliances obtain points by driving their robots in counter-clockwise laps while moving the large trackballs that correspond with their alliance's color. The objective is to score higher than the opposing alliance.*
