-cRIO Meeting 12/6/08

The Programming team attented the cRIO workshop up at Middlesex County College. It was quite informative. Those there were Aaron, Desmond, Devon, Josh, Mr.Morris, Mr.Clark, and myself.First off, the specifications of the new controller were reviewed. The meeting has mostly revolved around LabVIEW, view is capitalized, it MUST be capitalized, or else. We've learned plenty of information about the LabVIEW graphical language. We made a few sample programs, an example of joystick interaction and another of parallel while loops. An example of working robot code was shown. It's very evident that this year, software will play a paramount role to the success of any team. WOO! The Programming team will really have to buckle down due to recent seatbelt laws. We are still unsure as to which IDE to use this year, Wind River (C++) or LabVIEW. LabVIEW definitely has it's advantages in terms of ease of use and the benefits as far as the Front Panel goes. It's important to think of First as a learning experience, and although LabVIEW is widely used throughout the engineering industry, C++ is a very all purpose language which would benefit all those that learn it greatly throughout their lives. It's also very tasty especially when topped with a bleu cheese sauce.

-Content Needed 12/5/08

As you can see the site itself is quite barren, beyond a calender and a description of a few subteams we really don't have much, it would be very good of anybody to send in any photos, opinions, or updates that they have.

-Up and Running 12/3/08

This is a trial for the new robotics site, as you can see it needs plenty of content, that's why there is a web design team, not just two people doing web design. So send your content and ideas to Cwvassos@gmail.com and Halfcaf07@gmail.com. It would be much appreciated.
